About the conference
The scientific conference of the Latvian National Museum of Literature and Music “Acts. Facts. Artefacts.” is a platform for fostering academic exchange dedicated to current issues in museology and the study of museum collections.
The conference brings together cultural heritage experts and practitioners from Latvia and abroad, allowing participants to explore diverse museum collections, exhibitions, and various curatorial projects. The questions raised form a discussion about the relationship of museums with the past, present, and future, and what role individuals, sustainable thinking, and professional foresight play in the museum sector.
Conference objectives:- To stimulate discussion on current issues and outline the latest trends in museology;
- To promote cooperation and exchange of experience among cultural heritage and research institutions in Latvia and internationally;
- To promote the collection of the Latvian National Museum of Literature and Music, its diversity, research potential, and significance in cultural heritage;
- To highlight the stories of objects in museum collections, drawing attention to musical instrument collections;
- To emphasize the importance of museums in broader society.
