About the conference
"Acts. Facts. Artefacts." is the annual conference of the Latvian National Museum of Literature and Music, designed as a platform for academic exchange, focusing on topical issues in museology and offering insights into collections, exhibitions, and curatorial projects of various Latvian and international museums.
The Acts. Facts. Artefacts. conference cycle began in 2023, bringing together Latvian museum professionals to highlight the research potential of collections not only at the LNMLM but also in other Latvian museums and memory institutions. In 2025, the conference expands its scope internationally.
Conference objectives:- To promote the LNMLM collection
- To attract as many speakers as possible from various institutions
- To encourage public discussion on topical museological issues
- To discuss current research trends and developments
- To highlight the musical instrument collection
- To emphasise the international aspect not only in the LNMLM collection but also in other memory institutions and archives
- To offer visitors and audiences a “backstage” glimpse into museum collections and archives
- To continue sharing object stories
